Christine Carpenter, PsyD

Christine is a clinical psychologist and leadership coach with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals and groups unlock their potential. She brings a distinctive lens to her coaching: blending psychological depth with a practical focus on leadership presence, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness.

Known for combining sharp insight, genuine warmth and a touch of humor, Christine creates a style that pushes leaders to confront hard truths while feeling deeply supported. She helps clients translate self-awareness into lasting shifts in how they show up and lead.

Her passion lies in designing experiential learning environments where participants can test new ways of being, receive direct feedback, and discover the deeper presence that drives influence and trust.

Christine Carpenter, PsyD, and Darryl Pure, PhD, have been collaborating for more than a decade, designing and facilitating leadership intensives and group learning experiences that balance psychological rigor with practical relevance. They first met through national and local group therapy communities, and since 2019 have been professional partners. Together, they bring complementary strengths, a shared passion for interpersonal learning, and a belief that leadership transformation begins with authentic connection.

As faculty members at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, they teach Interpersonal Dynamics—widely recognized at top business schools (including Stanford GSB where it’s long been nicknamed “Touchy Feely”and Yale SOM) as one of the most transformative leadership experiences available. They were part of the team that launched Booth’s first two sections in 2019, which quickly became the highest-rated course among students. Today Booth offers up to 10 sections per quarter, yet still has to turn away dozens of qualified students each term due to its high-demand.
